Year-End Check List for Grant Writers

December is a busy time of year for fundraisers in individual giving, but not so much for grant writers, making it the perfect time to get prepared for the new year by:

1. Checking your calendar for any deadlines in January and getting a head start on those applications

2. Preparing a list of prospects (including trustee lists) to circulate at the first board meeting of the year to look for connections

3. And very importantly, filing all reports that are due to funders.

4. And even if a report isn’t due, now is a good time to send them a short note briefly outlining the progress your program has made along with your best wishes for the new year.
